Timber Finishing
Finishing timber is a key part of the manufacturing process; the key to ensuring timber performs and is long-lasting for both exterior and interior applications, is selecting the optimum coating system for the end-use.
Protection
Timber finishings add a protective barrier to the timber, which, in addition to the technical design and structural makeup of the timber, makes it last longer, whilst maintaining the timber’s natural appearance and value.
Arnold Laver offers a range of factory-applied finishes from industry-leading coating manufacturers which allows us to offer tailored solutions, and meet customer-specific requirements.
Premium Coatings
We offer an extensive range of beautiful colours and stains and can produce finishes to match most RAL colours, creating the perfect finish for our customers.
Time Saving
Our timber coatings and finishing service allows installation, finishing time and cost to be significantly reduced.
Interior Priming
Our professional priming service for internal joinery products such as architraves, skirtings and door linings prepares the material for a top-coat – saving the time required to finish on-site.
We offer a single-coat priming finish as a standard. However, some of the other priming options we can offer include: multi-coat, sanded, de-nibbed and a knotting service.
Interior Lacquer
We offer a two-coat clear lacquer finish for application on interior joinery products.
Our standard lacquer finish is set to either a 20% sheen or an 80% sheen.
A range of translucent base stains are also available which can be applied prior to lacquering.
Exterior Wood Stains
We offer wide range of translucent colours and opaque stains which can be colour-matched to any RAL colour and used for exterior solutions such as cladding.
Our quality wood stain finishes provide durability and protect against discolouration, fungi and UV-light upon application.
For less durable species we would recommend pressure treatment first.
Exterior Base Coat/Top Coat
We offer a wide range of base-coat and top-coat solutions for exterior application; including a range of translucent colours and opaque stains which can be colour-matched to most RAL colours.
Prior to application of the base coats / Top coats – all material is sanded.
Translucent base-coats / top-coats then receive a tinted preservative base-coat which contains UV inhibitors followed by 2 coats of exterior top-coat. Opaque colours receive 3 coats of exterior top-coat after sanding.
