North American White Oak is a popular hardwood with a medium to coarse texture. Light yellow-brown to pale biscuit in colour with reliable strength, White Oak is commonly used for kitchens, furniture, joinery, and interior fit-outs. Kiln drying timber delivers a uniform product with consistent moisture levels. Once inside the kiln temperature, humidity, and airflow are carefully controlled to quickly reduce the moisture content of the timber to its optimum level on a species-by-species basis, avoiding moisture-related problems like warping and buckling. You can typically expect to find fewer defects in kiln dried timber, making North American White Oak an ideal hardwood option for projects where appearances count.
