As soon as the announcement was made that London was the host city for the 2012 Olympics, the team at Arnold Laver started working on how we could get involved with such a prestigious project.

This involved establishing a new depot in Rainham, Essex, and introducing our own Olympic timber supply panel, consisting of the best suppliers in our sector We wanted to ensure that we would be able to provide all of the necessary materials on-time to this unprecedented project, so we put procedures in place to guarantee it.

To be able to say now that we supplied more than 50% of the timber and timber-based products used in the construction of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralymic Games gives us enormous pride.

From the Siberian Pine used to create the now iconic Olympic Velodrome cycling track, to the specialist plywood panels employed in forming the foundations of the main stadium, our materials can be found in every element of the Olympic Park as well as the majority of the other venues.

We hope that, in some small way, our contribution helped to ensure that London 2012 was the best Olympic and Paralympic Games ever!
