Decorative Services

AGT, Leeuwenburgh, Meganite, Nevamar, Paludet, Sonae. You what? Speak properly, boy! If none of that made any sense, then prepare to be enlightened because today we’re talking about decorative surfaces.

Decorative surfaces add a certain je ne sais quoi to any project; be it refurbishing your home, fitting out a bar, sprucing up an office reception, or a self-build house project.

AGT

A range of foiled MDF panels that come in a high gloss or soft matt finish and are available in a choice of mesmerising decors. They are both user-friendly as well as being environmentally-friendly and do not release any VOC (volatile organic compounds) into the atmosphere.

The panels are made using a premium quality MDF substrate that has been laminated with a decorative film overlay using a polyurethane adhesive known as PUR. They’re ideal for areas such as kitchen cabinets and work surfaces, bedroom furniture and tables and desks.

Dekodur

Exclusive to Arnold Laver in the UK, and is an innovative range of high-pressure laminates. Dekodur boast one of the world’s largest collections of press-plate finishes and when combined with an almost endless supply of raw materials the company has the capability to produce a laminate out of almost anything. The possibilities are almost limitless!

The company began by producing laminated panels made from melamine resin, before becoming the first manufacturer to make laminates with real metal surfaces in the 1960s, and went on to produce the world’s first CO2-neutral high-pressure laminate free of formaldehyde and phenols.

Translucent laminated panels as well as surfaces covered with real gold leaf, fig tree bark or glass open up a wide spectrum of uses including claddings for walls or ceilings, doors or frames, furniture, company nameplates, counters and displays as well as fitting out shops, bars, restaurants, trade-fair stands, ships and railway carriages.

Leeuwenburgh

Leeuwenburgh Fineer to give it its full name, comes from Raamsdonksveer, in Holland. The company has more than three decades of experience in producing the finest range of decorative wood sheets and boards specialising in colour, texture and pre-lacquered finishes.

Leeuwenburgh comes with a natural look being veneer glued on a stable support meaning that it’s easy to process. The company can also supply finished wood veneer to different processors for the same project.

The manufacturing process involves veneer leaves being sliced from a log with great accuracy so that each sheet is unique in figure and colour. The leaves are then spliced together to form large sheets (305x122cm) and pressed with a phenolic backing for strength.

Meganite

A palette of more than 100 colours to provide a highly durable, versatile, hygienic and beautiful acrylic solid surface that can be used in horizontal and vertical applications; or to put simply, fresh colours, modern finishes and timeless applications. To further boost its credentials, there’s a very high chance that today’s leading designers are already using the patterns you want!

Since 1976 Meganite has worked with interior designers, architects, fabricators, homeowners and corporate partners the world over.

It offers a high degree of safety and cleanliness and comes with official food and health certifications making it perfect for food services, retailing and education.

Nevamar

Known for its upscale, stylish and innovative designs, making it a favourite within the design community, and its USP of “vision, value and versatility in a range of quality high pressure laminates” rings very true. It’s a dynamic range of trend-setting styles, and their design aesthetics are perfect for customers looking to achieve a more sophisticated vision.

The Nevamar range includes ARP (Armoured Protection) that allows surfaces to look better for longer through the use of a patented technology which incorporates aluminium oxide particles and clear resins so that objects simply slide over the laminate surface to reduce the effect of wear and tear.

The FRL (Fibre Reinforced Laminate) range is the ideal wall surfacing product, providing a panel that is robust with a solid construction which is perfect for demanding applications. It’s available in a large range of colours and styles making it a popular choice for hospitals, schools, airports and restaurants; in fact any type of high-density public areas.

Paludet

A range of high-gloss acrylic mirror and acrylic anti-scratch mirror panels that give a shiny appearance with a high-resistant surface treatment. They’re also shock and impact resistant, and are machinable with standard wood-working tools.

It is typical used for counters and kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinet doors, tables and desk surfaces, headboards, room partitions and trade fair booths.

Sonae

One of the largest wood-based panel producers in the world with a great history of manufacturing and developing quality high-pressure laminates that are as beautiful as they are practical.

Their products are specially designed for general use in the most demanding situations of wear and impact making them ideal for bonding to supporting substrates. Sonae laminate has excellent shaping capabilities, increasing its suitability for beautiful furniture manufacture.

This modern, fashionable collection of soft or strong plain colours, granite’s, marbles, woods and various textures delivers an excellent alternative to solid wood and stone materials.

Hopefully you’re not too confused by what you’ve just read, but we’ve only just scratched the surface (geddit?) of what’s available, but at Arnold Laver we have extensive experience in advising clients on material selection and careful detailing to ensure that every project looks fantastic and meet its performance objectives.
