How to stop decking becoming slippery

When choosing a garden gate, don’t underestimate its use! Easy to do. Gates have a multitude of uses: providing security, shielding your privacy and giving you the peace of mind that little ones have an obstacle to get past! They can also give a property a premium look and a complete finish that talks style.

Ever passed by a new development or a redevelopment and thought how good it looks? It could well be that they have installed good quality gates.  Suitable for all uses, such as an entrance to your front garden from the pavement, a side entrance to the garden, or creating a secondary entrance to a ‘room’ within your own garden, or suitable for a developments of all kinds, gates can add that high value look. They are also great for shielding storage or bin areas and are suitable for fixing to a house wall or timber fencing.

Choose your gate

Our Forest Garden timber gates come in a choice of sizes and styles.  Ready treated, these gates will not shrink or twist. A good quality garden gate makes all the difference and you can choose the style of fittings to suit.  It speaks quality. All the Forest Garden range of garden products carry the FSC logo, so you’re reassured that the wood has been ethically supplied from sustainable forests. This means your clients are happy, or you know you’ve sourced a product that has gone through a process that fits with our shared ethos on protecting the environment.

Got a good garden gate? Get a good fence

Choose your fencing from our vast Forest Green range, and again, be reassured that the timber has been ethically sourced, and treated for a long-life. Our acoustic fencing is brilliant for those areas that need protecting from busy roads or transport hubs, and our featherboard or larch lap fencing looks good and sturdy giving that quality and consistent look across your site. Check out the Forest Green brochure here, and see what suits you: featheredge, panel boarding, tongue and groove, woven, vertical or close board fencing plus much more.

Our favourite look at the moment is the Contemporary Double Slatted Panel fence – make a feature of your fence and feel the quality!  Want a peep-through gate and fence, go for the Europa Prague, or Kyoto.

Our top tip is to match your gate with your fencing, whether that’s in design or colour. It extends the space, looks consistent and stylish. Keep the gate and the fence height at roughly the same level. If you’re using the gate as a side entrance, we recommend the gate’s height is level with the top of a wall. If you’re using the gate between two houses, then go for a gate over 180cm in height.

Whether you’re providing fencing and gates for a client, or working on your own development or private build, quality fencing and gates can really make a difference and we think you’ll find us a brilliant one-stop-shop for quality gate and fencing products.
