Huntingdon Car Park Graham Construction - a case study
The project was for Western Red Cedar timber cladding to the exterior of a new car park in Huntingdon. Arnold Laver were involved at an early stage of the project as the requirements for the Cedar Cladding were challenging both in specification and quality.
The specification was for minimal knot content and due to the volume and sections required Arnold Laver had to source and secure stock that met this requirement with minimal waste and within budget. This involved physically turning a selection of packs of sawn Western Red Cedar at the docks to ensure quality would be met after machining at our mill. Some of the sections were too large to be readily available and working with the client we came up with a solution so that some of the larger sections were supplied in two pieces and bolted together on site.
Our mill at Mosborough machined all of the various profiles and sections, selecting as required and we delivered to site for installation. Due to the quality of the raw material and selection at the mill there was virtually no waste on site and the project was completed in the required timescale.
