Red Grandis (FSC) (Eucalyptus Grandis)
From managed Plantation Forests (In Uruguay), over 40.000 Hectares. Red Grandis is a single botanical specie, unlike
most other Hardwoods. Saplings are planted (1,000 per Hectare) and carefully pruned over their first 4 years of growth.
Full growth cycle is only 20/22 years, from sapling to felling. The Timber is very consistent in colour with very good
widths + Length. Solid material is 25mm up to 50mm thickness (65% of volume is 25mm). Thicker sizes will be available
in Engineered sections, from June (TBA). The Timber machines exceptionally well, to achieve a glass like finish.
Applications: Windows, Doors & Door frames, Mouldings, Stair Components, External Cladding, Stuctural glue-lam beams, T & G wall panelling, All types of Joinery. Moisture content 10/12%. Durability class 2/3 (Similar to Sapele). Timber is graded to NHLA Grading rules. Very clear boards.This is a unique Timber, in every way.
