Capitol Way Housing - a case study
Capitol Way is a new mixed use development in Colindale, London.
The development consists of 462 apartments and around 85,000 sq ft of retail space, in 5 separate buildings ranging from 5 to 7 storeys high.
The architects specified the use of Thermowood cladding timbers to provide a stunning and natural contrast to the exterior masonary walls of the buildings.
Around 100 cubic metres of Thermowood, treated with exterior Euro Class B fire treatment, (supplied by Arnold Laver) was used as exterior cladding on the roof apartment facades as well as a feature within the balcony areas of the lower storey apartments.
The leach resistant Euro Class B fire treatment provides a long term fire protection of the Thermowood claddings without the need for any on-going maintenance.
